WalkAs a daily ritual, I would walk my dog around the block. Every once and awhile, a profound thought might cross my mind and I would think about it for some time, but not today. Today as we took a stroll, I just listened to the birds chirping and the bugs buzzing by. The smell of freshly cut lawn stuck in my nose, almost as good as the smell of rain. My dog was pleased by the length of our trip and enjoyed scaring away nearby squirrels. I smiled to myself.Walk

Sitting in StarbucksWaiting for her non-fat machiatto, she stood near the counter. Watching people walk past the cafe was one of her favorite things to do. She got her drink and sat down in a soft chair, facing the window wall that revealed the outside. Some people were bustling by as others enjoyed themselves, looking around and talking to one another. Occasionally someone or a group of people would come inside and get drink. She noticed that she was not the only one looking from the outside in.Sitting in Starbucks

My DogOne time, my dog was sitting near me, looking like he could see into my soul. His golden-brown eyes that seemed oversized and knowing, were fixed on my face. A thought occurred to me then: why is it that dogs are so well loved? Not just because they are cute and furry, but because there is something about them that makes you feel like they know you. They never talk behind your back, or hurt your feelings, but are there for you when you need them.My Dog

Bad DayLaying in my room, on my bed, listening to the sweet melodies being played through the boombox on the floor. I closed my eyes and let the music take me to another place. I didn't want to think about what had happened earlier today. Steadying my emotions with deep breaths, I started to calm down. A tear leaked through my eyelid and rolled down my cheek anyhow. After listening for awhile I drifted into sleep.Bad Day
